Fluidized Abrasive Hopper

The Fluidized Abrasive Hopper is commonly used with a Jet Edge diesel-powered waterjet intensifier pump and a portable waterjet cutting system.

Using compressed air, the Fluidized Abrasive Delivery system creates an even distribution of abrasive flow that is essential to achieve reliable abrasive water jet cutting results. Compressed air uidizes and transports abrasive from a hopper to a single cutting head. Accurate metering and reliable on/off control of the abrasive is accomplished with a pneumatically actuated slide gate. An adjustment knob controls the slide gate opening for precise abrasive flow rates, and the indicating dial provides an accurate reference mark for the position of the slide gate.

SUPPORTING EQUIPMENT

The Fluidized Waterjet Abrasive Delivery System requires a customer-supplied air compresser for operation. The air supply should be set at 80–90 psi (5.5–6.2 bar) and be able to provide 11 cfm (311 Lpm).
